Comprehensive Plan Update
Transportation, Utility, and Storm Water
Management
Prepared for City of Falcon Heights
1.0 Introduction
Falcon Heights is currently a City of approximately 5,600 residents
located in Ramsey County, Minnesota bordered by the cities of Roseville
to the north, St. Paul to the south, and Lauderdale to the west. The
Minnesota State Fairgrounds and the University of Minnesota -St. Paul
Campus make up over half of the City's total incorporated area. Figure
1, on the following page, provides the general location map for the City.
1.1 Purpose of Plan Update
This report summarizes the results of a comprehensive plan update for
the City of Falcon Heights. The plan update included a review and
evaluation of the following:
^ Transportation system.
^ Sanitary sewer system.
^ Storm water management.
The main purpose of the plan update was to evaluate the existing and
future transportation and the sanitary sewer system needs of the City, as
well as the infrastructure improvements and expansions necessary to
serve the current and future residents. Also, a review and evaluation of
the City's storm sewer system was completed and a storm water
management plan was developed.
The City's present and future needs have been evaluated and
recommendations made for necessary improvements to maintain
adequate service levels for the transportation, sanitary sewer, and storm
water systems. This plan update will serve as a guide for future
infrastructure improvements for these three systems.
TComprehensive Plan UpdateT
City of Falcon Heights
AFALCO0701.00
Page 1
