Before the plan is submitted, three
steps must be taken by the city:
• Allow for adjacent governmental units and affected school districts to
review and comment
• Approval by the Planning Commission
• Local government body approval (but not final adoption)
Falcon Heights' draft comprehensive plan has been available to the public at City
Hall and on the city's website since January. The city hosted an informal open
house for the public on March 13; another is planned for Apri13. Comments and
questions are welcome at all times.
This evening's hearing is an opportunity for the Planning Commission to take
formal comment before making a recommendation to the City Council on the
comprehensive plan. According to the city attorney, there is no required form or
format for the commission's recommendation and a written resolution is not
required.
Attachment•
• Falcon Heights Comprehensive Plan draft, January, 2008
Actions Requested:
Following the public hearing, make a recommendation to the City Council.
r:
City of Falcon Heights Planning Commission, March 25, 2008 Page 1 of 1
Staff Report: Public Hearing on the Comprehensive Plan and Recommendation to Council
