• 3. Housing and Neighborhoods
•
•
The City of Falcon Heights is primarily a residential community dominated by modest,
well-maintained single family homes built in the mid-20~' century. Slightly less than a
third of the total residential units are apartments, for which there is a constant demand
because of proximity to the University of Minnesota. About 15% of the City's housing is
in a student housing cooperative on the university campus.
Falcon Heights Neighborhoods
The geographical barriers of major roads, open fields, fairground and campus give the
neighborhoods of Falcon Heights clearly defined identities. The neighborhoods are also
distinguished by age and type of housing, and by typical lot size.
_ ~ __
ii I~
~1 ~ ~
T
s l o
~ M
Y Court
____ ,~
,~.:~ ~~ :a- ~:e
II~
.a~..i a _~.IY ~ _
~~ __.
~~ ~ ~ ~
.~~
~,.~ ~-~0
mmawmwrlh ~._.J L ~ ~ s
T~rtaw .uo$«
tii
CaopvNiw v .~
W.
