• <br />No. R-94-29 <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />COUNCIL RESOLUTION <br />Date: 12/21 /94 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT <br />FOR AN INTERIM STRATEGY FOR NONPOINT SOURCE POLLUTION CONTROL <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council adopted an interim strategy to <br />reduce nonpoint source pollution to all metropolitan water bodies on October 22, 1992 <br />and required that all local governments, including the City of Falcon Heights, adopt the <br />same interim strategy as policy; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed this request at a <br />public hearing and recommended approval; <br />• NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF FALCON <br />HEIGHTS that it approves the comprehensive plan amendment to adopt the interim <br />strategy to reduce nonpoint source of pollution to all metropolitan water bodies <br />subject to the following guidelines: <br />1. The City of Falcon Heights will apply Nationwide Urban Runoff <br />Program (NURP) standards for the design of new stormwater <br />ponds and the MPCA's urban best management practices <br />titled Protectina Water Quality in Urban Areas to the review <br />of any proposed development occurring in the city to reduce <br />nonpoint source pollutant loadings in stormwater run-off. <br />The City of Falcon Heights will incorporate these standards <br />and requirements in its stormwater management plan and <br />land use controls to implement this policy. <br />2. The City of Falcon Heights will prepare and adopt specific <br />amendments to its stormwater plan and land use controls <br />by June 30, 1995. The Metropolitan Council will be notified <br />after the amendments are adopted. <br />
