No. R-90-41 <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />C O U N C I L R E S O L U T I O N <br />Date October 24, 1990 <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FALCON <br />HEIGHTS TO JOIN AN ENVIRONMENTAL <br />CITIES GROUP <br />WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights recognizes its leadership role <br />in protecting the environment of those people living and working within <br />the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to complement the efforts <br />of the State and Federal governments in dealing with environmental con- <br />cerns; and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that there is a need for governmental <br />bodies to act quickly on many of the environmental problems facing them; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that local environmental initiatives <br />often have a more immediate impact on the environment than those initia- <br />• tives passed at higher levels of government; and <br />WHEREAS, the City understands that there is a need by business, <br />other governmental bodies, and the public for uniform regulations across <br />the state, and <br />WHEREAS, the City believes that one way to obtain this type of <br />uniform regulation is to work closely with other cities in such a way as <br />to coordinate the environmental legislation passed in these cities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City also believes that this type of inter-city coop- <br />eration may act to stimulate state environmental legislation dealing <br />with the topics addressed by the cities and in a form acceptable to the <br />cities; <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Moved by Sam Jacobs Approved by / ~' ~ " ~~`~~ <br />Mayor <br />October 24, 990 <br />5 YEAS Nays a e <br />BALDWIN ~ ~ ~` <br />CIERNIA 5 in Favor Attested by ~e%L~1 4Zc <br />GEHRZ City lerk <br />WALLIN 0 Against <br />JACOBS October 24, 1990 <br />Date <br />Adopted by Council October 24, 1990 <br />
