R-86-8 <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />• C O U N C I L R E S O L U T I O N <br />Date February 26, 1986 <br />A RESOLUTION RELATING TO MORATORIUM ON HOME OCCUPATIONS <br />RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights has <br />recently had occasion to review the provisions of its Municipal Code <br />relating to planning and development and more specifically those <br />provisions regulating the conduct of businesses or occupations within <br />a home within residential districts of the City; and <br />RESOLVED, That the Council has questioned whether the current regulatory <br />scheme for said home occupations which includes confusing, multiple <br />provisions relating to conditional use permits, permitted accessory <br />uses and licenses, adequately reflects the Council's view of these <br />matters or whether the City's best interests would not be served by <br />a study designed to examine the regulation of such land uses within <br />the City; and <br />RESOLVED, That the City is mindful of the need for prompt action to <br />avoid any hardship on City residents which may result from any proposed <br />modification in the current zoning provisions relating to home occupations. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Falcon <br />Heights that a moratorium on authorizing home occupations in residential <br />districts of the City is established for a period of not longer than six (6) <br />months to allow for a comprehensive analysis of the subject of home occupations <br />contained in the Planning and Development Chapter of the City's Municipal <br />Code.
