CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />RESOLUTION 82-8 <br />• A RESOLUTION ON THE DEATH OF MAHTOMEDI FIRE <br />MEN ROBERT B. HAYS AND BRUCE J. RAEBURN <br />The Council of the City of Falcon Heights, being shocked and grieved <br />at the untimely death of two volunteer members of the Mahtomedi Fire Depart- <br />ment in the tragic Stillwater fire on January 22, 1982, passed the follow- <br />ing resolution at their meeting held on January 27, 1982. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights is also served by a Volunteer <br />Fire Department, its Council and citizens can fully appreciate the courage <br />of the brave men who serve as well-trained volunteers in order to protect <br />their neighbors and community and, <br />WHEREAS, Mahtomedi Firemen <br />Robert B. Hays and <br />Bruce J. Raeburn <br />both gave their lives while assisting a neighboring community to fight a <br />fire under most adverse and inclement conditions, <br />BE IT NOW RESOLVED by the Council of Falcon Heights, in regular meet- <br />ing assembled, in behalf of the City and all its citizens, that an ex- <br />pression of sincere and heartfelt sympathy be sent to the families of <br />Robert Hays and Bruce Raeburn, to the Fire Department of Mahtomedi, and <br />to the City they so ably served. May the esteem and regard in which they <br />were held, be a source of comfort and solace in our hour of grief. <br />Passed unanimously this 27th day of January, 1982. <br />~~ <br />Willis C. A.
