CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Special Meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Falcon Heights was duly called and held at the City <br />• Hall in said City on the 6th day of November, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, <br />Eggert and Larson and the following were absent: Councilmember Brown. <br />Mayor Warkentien introduced the following Resolution and moved its <br />adoption. <br />RESOLUTION 80-29 <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE LOCAL UNITED STATES <br />POST OFFICE TO PROVIDE MAIL DELIVERY DIRECTLY TO <br />THE RESIDENCES WHICH WOULD PERMIT REMOVAL OF CURB <br />SIDE MAIL BOXES <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights is concerned <br />over the aesthetics of the City in all aspects, and <br />WHEREAS, mail boxes at curb side create an appearance not desirable in <br />their opinion as they are not maintained in an orderly fashion or standard <br />size, and <br />WHEREA'~,because of their location many of them are destroyed during snow- <br />plowing, and <br />• WHEREAS, the City Council has, had numerous requests that delivery of mail <br />be made directly to the. residents houses, <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council requests that the <br />United States Regional Post Office consider mail delivery to the homes of <br />residents in the City of Falcon Heights so that mail boxes can be removed <br />from the boulevards and which would further conserve energy by minimizing <br />the use of mail trucks from stopping and going from each residence. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilmember Steele and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, Eggert and Larson <br />and the following voted against the same: None <br />WHEREUPON said Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />~.P ~ G~.
