CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights was duly called and held at the City • Hall in said City on the 6th day of November, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, Eggert and Larson and the following were absent: Councilmember Brown. Mayor Warkentien introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION 80-29 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE LOCAL UNITED STATES POST OFFICE TO PROVIDE MAIL DELIVERY DIRECTLY TO THE RESIDENCES WHICH WOULD PERMIT REMOVAL OF CURB SIDE MAIL BOXES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights is concerned over the aesthetics of the City in all aspects, and WHEREAS, mail boxes at curb side create an appearance not desirable in their opinion as they are not maintained in an orderly fashion or standard size, and WHEREA'~,because of their location many of them are destroyed during snow- plowing, and • WHEREAS, the City Council has, had numerous requests that delivery of mail be made directly to the. residents houses, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council requests that the United States Regional Post Office consider mail delivery to the homes of residents in the City of Falcon Heights so that mail boxes can be removed from the boulevards and which would further conserve energy by minimizing the use of mail trucks from stopping and going from each residence. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Steele and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, Eggert and Larson and the following voted against the same: None WHEREUPON said Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. ~.P ~ G~.
