CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of-the <br />City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota was held on the 27th <br />day of May, 1981. <br />• The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Council- <br />members Steele, Brown, Eggert and Larson, and the following members were <br />absent: None. Councilmember Eggert introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 81- b <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR <br />A CABLE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF FALCON <br />HEIGHTS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights has resolved that the develop- <br />ment of a joint cable television system is in the best interest of the City, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City has received a study report assessing communications <br />needs, and has determined to continue the cable franchising process., and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights has participated in the North <br />Suburban Cable Commission, and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission was delegated the responsibility to prepare <br />and adopt and did prepare and adopt a Request for Proposals (RFP) and a pre- <br />liminary draft franchise ordinance for a cable communications system for the <br />• City of Falcon Heights along with the Cities of Arden Hills, Lauderdale, Little <br />Canada, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville, St. Anthony and <br />Shoreview, Minnesota, and <br />WHEREAS, the City is the franchising authority, and <br />WHEREAS, section 4.140 (d) (1) of the Official Rules of-the Minnesota <br />Cable Communications Board requires that the franchising authority shall adopt <br />in a public hearing the Request for Proposals, and <br />WHEREAS, notice of said public hearing was published in the official <br />newspaper of the City of Falcon Heights on May 19, 1981, and <br />WHEREAS, members of the public have been affored a reasonable oppor- <br />tunity to be heard. <br />follows: <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Falcon Heights City Council as <br />1. The City of Falcon Heights adopts the RFP and receives the draft <br />preliminary franchise ordinance. <br />2. The RFP accompanied by a draft of :the preliminary franchise ordi- <br />nance shall be issued by the Commission on behalf of the City of <br />Falcon Heights on or before April 22, 1981, and shall be on file <br />• in the City Clerk's Office of the City of Falcon Heights. <br />
