w <br />MINNESOTA HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM <br />PROJECT FOR CORRECTING REGULATORY AND WARNING SIGN <br />DEFICIENCIES IN ROADWAY SIGNING <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE <br />TrJHEREAS, under the Federal Highway Safety Act of 1966, one of the <br />objectives set forth by the Department of Transportation is the conformance <br />of all traffic control devices to the National Manual on Uniform Traffic <br />Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD); and <br />WHEREAS, funds are available through the Federal Highway Administration <br />for the replacement of non-standard devices: and <br />TnIF[FA~;AS, the City of Falcon Heights is desirous of bringing the traffic <br />control devices on streets and roads under its jurisdiction into conformance <br />with National Standards; <br />NOW, TI3FR.EF'ORE, <br />• (1) It is hereby agreed that the City of Falcon Heights <br />wi11 comply with the conditions set forth in the <br />project description and wi11 remove, replace, or <br />install all regulatory and warning signs necessary <br />to comply with National Standards (MUTCD) as deter- <br />mined through an inventory of inplace signs and a <br />survey of needed additional signs. Such removal, <br />replacement or installation to be done by the City <br />of Falcon Heights on all streets and roads under its <br />jurisdiction and completed by January 1, 1977. <br />(2) The State of Minnesota, Departu~nent of Highways, wi11 <br />review the work done and certify to the Federal High- <br />way Administration satisfactory completion for reim- <br />bursement from available Federal Highway Safety Funds <br />for 90~ of the actual project cost of such work in <br />accordance with conditions set forth in the Project <br />Description and the estimate of costs. Ten percent <br />(10~) of the project costs sha11 be paid by the City <br />of Falcon Heights. Reimbursement is applicable only <br />to the work done on the non-Federal Aid portion of the <br />street and road system by January 1, 1977. The <br />amounts for reimbursement of materials sha11 be limited <br />to costs of standard materials commonly used by the <br />Minnesota Highway Department. <br /> <br />
