y . .. y VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS • Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was held on the 2l~th day of May, 1973. The following members were present: Mayor Waxkenten,_ Councilmen Black, Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker. The following member was absent: Councilman Ecklund. Councilwoman Stocker introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION #73-15 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOIi:AND CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITH NORTHERPd STATES POWER, COMPANY TO ENTER INTO THE METRO RATE AUTHORITY WHEREAS, the Village of Falcon Heights is authorized by Minnesota Statutes, Section 171.59 to enter into 3oint and cooperative agreements with other governmental units, and WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that it is necessary and desirable that the Village cooperate-with other mdnicipalites ire the regulation of • electric utility service in..the Metropolitan Area by pa~rtic3patimg in the .Metro Rate Authority, and WHEREAS, the Village has granted a uniform franchise to Northern States Power Company and is, therefore, eligible for membership in the Metro.. Rate Authority, an organization established to administer the rate provisions of such uniform franchises adopted by its members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RE90LVED, by the Village-Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the attached Joint and Cooperative Agreement providing for membership of the Village in the Metro Rate Authority.. 2. In accordance with the provisions of the Joint and Cooperative Agree- ment, the Council hereby designates Mayor Warkentien as its first director on • the Board of Directors of the Metro Rate Authority.
