y . .. y <br />VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />• <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Village <br />Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was held on the 2l~th day of <br />May, 1973. The following members were present: Mayor Waxkenten,_ Councilmen <br />Black, Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker. The following member was absent: <br />Councilman Ecklund. <br />Councilwoman Stocker introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #73-15 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOIi:AND CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR <br />TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITH NORTHERPd STATES POWER, COMPANY <br />TO ENTER INTO THE METRO RATE AUTHORITY <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Falcon Heights is authorized by Minnesota Statutes, <br />Section 171.59 to enter into 3oint and cooperative agreements with other <br />governmental units, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that it is necessary and desirable <br />that the Village cooperate-with other mdnicipalites ire the regulation of <br />• electric utility service in..the Metropolitan Area by pa~rtic3patimg in the .Metro <br />Rate Authority, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village has granted a uniform franchise to Northern States <br />Power Company and is, therefore, eligible for membership in the Metro.. Rate <br />Authority, an organization established to administer the rate provisions of <br />such uniform franchises adopted by its members. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RE90LVED, by the Village-Council of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the attached <br />Joint and Cooperative Agreement providing for membership of the Village in the <br />Metro Rate Authority.. <br />2. In accordance with the provisions of the Joint and Cooperative Agree- <br />ment, the Council hereby designates Mayor Warkentien as its first director on <br />• the Board of Directors of the Metro Rate Authority. <br /> <br />
