I. <br />• villages on a shared basis; <br />WHEREAS, if a shared basis can be arranged for police <br />protection, the area to be patrolled by the police cars <br />is such that the Village of Lauderdale would be assured of <br />having a patrol car in their Village for a period of time <br />proportionate to the total cost of the services provided; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council <br />for the Village of Falcon Heights as follows: <br />The Village of Falcon Heights proposes to enter into a <br />Joint Powers Agreement, or some other acceptable agreement <br />to effect the following: <br />1. Fire and rescue services for both villages would <br />be performed by the Volunteer Fire Department of the Village <br />• of Falcon Heights. <br />2. Police protection for both villages would be <br />afforded by Ramsey County, with each village paying a cost <br />proportional to the area and population to be served. <br />3. The total cost to the Village of Lauderdale for <br />police, fire and rescue services would be $25,000 for the <br />calendar year commencing August 1, 1973. This amount would <br />be adjusted in future years, depending upon changes in <br />population, cost of the services, and the performance record. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution <br />was made by Member Ecklund, seconded by Councilman Black, <br />and upon a vote being taken on, the following voted in favor <br />• of: all; the following voted against; none. <br />-2- <br />
