~.~ . t VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was held on the 13th day of December, 1973. The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker, and the following were absent: None . Councilwoman Stocker introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION #73-38 A RESOLUTION TO THE COMMITTEE Oid SPORTS AND CULTURAL FACILITIES WHICH WAS CONDUCTING A HEARING REGARDING THE PROPOSED DOMED STADIUM WHEREAS, The Special Committee on Snorts and Cultural Facilities conducted a hearing on the proposed Domed Stadium to be erected on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and on the Campus of the Institute of Agriculture in the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, that it is definitely or~oosed to the 'erection of said stadium in the Village of Falcon Heights for the following reasons: 1. Subject to a survey conducted in the Village of Falcon Heights in September, 1973, the question was `asked: __ "You. may have heard of St. Paul Mayor Cohen's proposal to erect a Domed Stadium on the Fairgrounds, do you approve or disapprove?" Seventy-nine per cent (79;x) of the residents answering the survey sated that they would appose a stadium built in the Village of Falcon Heights. 2. A Domed Stadium erected in the Village of Falcon Heights would create hazardous traffic conditions, because at this time :'the Village does not have adequate roadways for ingress and egress to a facility of this magnitude. 3. The Village of Falcon Heights does not have in existance the supporting facilities. i.e. Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, Water or Policing facilities. The Village of Falcon Heights is also opAOSed to having any taxes levied for a Domed Stadium. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Warkentien, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker, and the following voted against the same: None. Whereupon, the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
