• No. 98-29 <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />COUNCIL RESOLUTION <br />Date: October 14, 1998 <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING A PROPOSED INTERCOLLEGIATE <br />WOMEN'S SOCCER FACILITY ABANDONED, AND AN ALTERNATIVE <br />SITE NOT SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR TO THE PRIOR SITE <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution dated August 21, 1998, the City of Falcon <br />Heights declared that the proposed construction by the University of Minnesota of an <br />intercollegiate women's soccer facility at the southwest intersection of Cleveland and <br />Larpenteur Avenues within the City had the potential for significant environmental effects <br />and directed the preparation of an environmental assessment worksheet; and <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to the City's August 21, 1998 resolution, the <br />University of Minnesota has taken steps to abandon the project and site as originally <br />proposed; and <br />• WHEREAS, the University of Minnesota is currently considering a modified <br />project at a different location within the City of Falcon Heights; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights through its staff and consultants, <br />have conducted an initial review of the proposed alternative. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Falcon Heights finds that: <br />No further action on the citizen petition is necessary <br />because the original project and site, which was the <br />subject of the petition, has been abandoned and is no <br />longer under consideration. <br />2.
