4. Comprehensive Plan Work <br />Mielke asked the Commission their thoughts on how the Park and Recreatio <br />budget should be explained or displayed in the new plan. Mielke also asked <br />there was a way to get budget information from comparable cities and showin <br />those in the plan as well. Abernathy will be checking with Deb Jones the Ci 's <br />planning and Zoning Director for information on comparable cities and pass n <br />the information onto Mielke as it is received. Other budget items that were g <br />discussed to go into the plan were the percentage of the General Fund that is <br />given to.the Special Revenue Fund (parks and recreation) and also capital <br />improvement information. <br />5. Tour Grove Park ~ - <br />Here is a list of amenities the Commission came up with or ideas for Grove <br />Park: a new park sign at entrance, more picnic tables, a few grills, and <br />possibly a temporary warming house and observe its use to determine if a <br />permanent building could be put in the park to be used as a warming house <br />as well as a picnic shelter. <br />6. New Business <br />Abernathy reminded the Commission that the Ice Cream Social was from <br />6pm-8pm on Thursday, July 26t" and to come out and represent the <br />Parks Commission. There will be no meeting in the month of August. At the <br />present time there are no pressing items other than the comprehensive plan <br />that is still being worked on.
