• <br />Minutes <br />City of Falcon Heights, Park and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />December 10, 2007 <br />6:30PM <br />Meeting Chair. Gene Ozasky <br />Minutes By: Lisa Abernathy <br />Present: Pam Harris, Eric Maronde, Paula Mielke, Michael Thomas, Annie Green, <br />Tim Pittman and Paul Faust <br />1. Meeting called to order 6:30 PM <br />2. Approval of minutes November 19, 2007 Meeting. <br />Motion made by Thomas and seconded by Green <br />. 3. Staff Report <br />Recreation Update- Abernathy reported that all rink attendants have been <br />hired and rinks will be opening Friday, December 21St. Hours and rink <br />locations are posted at each site as well as on the City's website. Abernathy <br />updated the Commission on the status of Falcon Heights ability to utilize <br />Roseville Community's education guide as a marketing tool. In years past the <br />book has been full. Abernathy was notified that Falcon Heights would have <br />access to one page for a fee. Abernathy felt this tool would be beneficial <br />because it reaches every home in the Roseville School District so it would be <br />reaching homes we aren't currently reaching with our City activity guide. Harris <br />suggested we track registrations by asking a question on our registration form <br />"how did you hear about this program" to validate the cost and if it will bring in <br />more participants. Abernathy agreed and will be adding that question to all <br />registration forms as well as online forms. <br />Abernathy also reported that due to money left over in the sign budget for <br />2007, we are able to purchase another sign for Community Park. This sign will <br />be smaller, much like the new sign at Grove Park. This will be placed at the <br />entrance to the park along Roselawn. <br />• Abernathy then reported to the Commission a county wide project the City <br />may be interested in pursuing- The 1000 Benches Program being put on by <br />Ramsey County and Active Living Ramsey County. The program's goal is to <br />promote physical activity by placing benches in areas that would become "path <br />
