• <br />Minutes <br />City of Falcon Heights, Park and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />January 14, 2008 <br />6:30PM <br />Meeting Chair. Annie Green <br />Minutes By: Lisa Abernathy <br />Present: Eric Maronde, Paula Mielke, Annie Green, Tim Pittman, Paul Faust, Jason <br />Schober, Melissa Weber-Sanders and Chuck Long. <br />Absent: Michael Thomas <br />1. Meeting called to order 6:30 PM <br />• 2. Approval of minutes December 10, 2007 Meeting. <br />Motion made by Maronde and seconded by Faust <br />3. Staff Report <br />Abernathy welcomed two new members to the Commission: Melissa Weber- <br />Sanders and Jason Schober. Commission members then went around the <br />room and introduced themselves. <br />Recreation Update- Abernathy reported that programming for summer has <br />begun and the summer activity guide is scheduled to be distributed towards <br />the end of February/beginning of March. Many of the same programs held in <br />the past will be held again as well as some new programs: Aerobic <br />Kickboxing, watercolor painting class and continuing the parent/child craft <br />classes with Nancy Gagner. At this time the University has not gotten back to <br />Abernathy regarding golf programs this summer so she will report back if <br />anything changes before summer. Abernathy then reported the status of the <br />Winterfest event coming up Sunday, January 27th. Council member Beth <br />Mercer-Taylor is in talks with REI in Bloomington about getting some cross <br />country ski's to use at Winterfest. Abernathy then asked the Commission to <br />come out and participate in the event or volunteer if they were able to do so. <br />Abernathy then reported that the City did get a page in the Roseville <br />• Community Education Activity Guide so to look for it in their next issue. This <br />page consisted of brief listings of programs we will be offering as well as <br />registration information and our contact information. <br />
