PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Falcon Heights Community Park Playground <br />Location: Cleveland and Roselawn in Falcon Heights <br />Total Available Area: Approximately 60' x 60'. <br />(See attached site plan) <br />Anticipated group <br />user• 5 - 12 year olds <br />Project to include: <br />- Installation of play equipment. Desired play experiences <br />to be included in play equipment design include the <br />following: Climbing apparatus, multiple slides (spiral & <br />tunnel), fireman's pole, double track ride (side by side), <br />activity panels, chain or suspension bridge, horizontal <br />ladder, crawl tube, chinning bar, roofs. All materials are <br />acceptable. <br />- Removal and disposal of existing large "Big Toy" climber <br />and equipment, including any and all concrete footings. <br />- Removal and disposal of existing absorption safety <br />surfacing material. (Combination of sand and pea gravel). <br />Play area was previously excavated between 4" and 12" deep <br />when existing play equipment was installed. For the most <br />part, existing sand/pea gravel is at surrounding ground <br />surface level. After removal, sub-surface should be <br />leveled to approximately 8 to 10 inches deep. <br />- Installation of treated 6" x 6" timbers stacked two high <br />within the entire excavated area. Configuration of curbing <br />for new curbing shall be dictated by play equipment layout. <br />Existing timbers may be salvaged and re-used. <br />- Removal, storage and re-installation of existing spring <br />toys (2) and toy diggers (2). Location of these items to <br />i be dictated by overall project design. <br />- Installation of new pea gravel to a level of 10" deep. Pea <br />gravel shall be aggregate gravel, 1/16 - 1/8 inch in <br />size. Material shall be clean and free of foreign debris. <br />VENDOR REQIIIREMENTS: <br />(1) Description of proposed play equipment. List type of <br />materials, colors, means of installation, and <br />specifications (i.e. deck heights, slide widths, etc.), <br />provide pictures .and layout drawing. Include curbing <br />layout as well. <br />(2) Vendor must provide a manufacturer's statement of <br />compliance with the most current consumer products safety <br />commission standards for playground equipment. <br />(3) Vendor must provide a manufacturer's statement of <br />compliance with the requirements set forward for play <br />equipment by the American Disabilities Act. <br />(4) Total cost of equipment, freight, installations, <br />removals, site preparations, etc. Total cost of project <br />shall not exceed $30,000. <br />(5) Installer is required to "fence off" equipment during <br />
