• <br />MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />APRIL 13, 1987 <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Bob Gehrz, Connie Lasser, Paul Nelson, Ardis Hutchins, <br />Jean and Leo Ohman, Pat Bush, and Paul Ciernia, Council <br />Liaison <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Tom Montain, Floyd Bedbury <br />1. Bike Rodeo <br />This is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 1987, at 10:00 A.M. Everything should <br />be ready as scheduled and described in the March 9,1987 Minutes. <br />2. Playground Equipment at Community Park <br />Pat Bush presented several different pieces of equipment for consideration. This <br />equipment would be placed at the Community Park and targeted for the toddler age <br />children. A motion was presented and passed to purchase some equipment. Pat <br />Bush will make arrangements to purchase and contact the salesperson to assist <br />• in the layout of the equipment. <br />3. Arbor Day - Tuesday <br />Connie Lasser reported that arrangements had been made to obtain 200 seedlings <br />which will be planted in a "nursery" type setting at the Community Park. Pat <br />Bush will also purchase twenty three foot trees from the Minnesota Park <br />and Recreation for $3 a tree. <br />Ardis Hutchins brought up the possibility of using an empty lot on Lindig <br />Street as a small park and planning some trees on it. A motion was adopted <br />that the Park and Recreation Commission would like to see this empty lot on <br />Lindig owned by the City of Falcon Heights be preserved as a park and that <br />its future use as park land be investigated. The possibility of tree planting <br />would also be considered. <br />4. Satellite at Community Park <br />This will be put in place soon. Cost is $60 a month which includes cleaning <br />and maintenance. Insurance is an additional $6 a month. It will be at the <br />park from May 18 to September 8, 1987. <br />• <br />
