Meeting date: 4/8/96 <br />Item: 1 <br />ITEM: Park Clean-up day, Saturday, April 20 <br />SUBMITTED BY: Carol Kriegler, Director of Parks, Grounds, Recreation and <br />Facilities <br />EXPLANATION /DESCRIPTION: <br />In conjunction with Earth Day, friends and neighbors are being encouraged to <br />come out and help clean up their neighborhood park (Grove Park, Curtiss <br />Field, Community Park) from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 20. <br />Falcon Heights residents are being informed of the event and encouraged to <br />participate with articles in the "Summer Activities" brochure, city newsletter, <br />and City Hall outdoor sign. The event will receive broader publicity through <br />WCCO-TV's "4 YOUR PARKS" promotion on television. The Falcon Heights <br />/Lauderdale Lions Club and a local scout troop have already expressed a <br />willingness to participate. <br />It is hoped that commission members might participate in this event by <br />providing some leadership, serving refreshments, and expressing appreciation <br />to those who participate. <br />Some planning would likely increase the probability of a successful and <br />productive event. <br />
