Meeting Date: 10/9/95
Agenda Item: D - 1
CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
ITEM DESCRIPTION: Community Playroom Program Review
SUBMITTED BY: Carol Kriegler, Parks and Recreation Director
EXPLANATION/SUMMARY: The Community Playroom opened its doors
for its inaugural season on February 6, 1995. Until early May,
the playroom maintained operating hours on Monday mornings from
9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and
Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Attached is a record
of session attendance as well as the corresponding revenues.
In an attempt to determine how well the Community Playroom was
functioning and how it might yet be improved, a survey was sent
near season end to the homes of all families who had visited the
playroom either at the open house or during a regular session.
A copy of the survey results is attached.
Although the commission reviewed the survey results last spring
and was briefed on the general well-being of the program, it is
suggested that members refamiliarize themselves with the program
at this time. With the playroom scheduled to open for its
second season on October 30th, this would be the appropriate
time to make any desired program adjustments. It would also be
an opportune time to explore publicity strategies and ideas.
ATTACHMENTS: 1. Attendance record and revenues
2. Survey results
