MINUTES
PLANNING COMNffSSION MEETING
DECEMBER 5, 1983
PAGE 2
Dahlgren and Associates presented and explained six different sketch
variations of how the Bullseye Building could be placed on the
northeast corner. After further discussion regarding acquisitions of
different properties (garage, Embers, liquor store, homes), whether
neighborhood garages could be turned to Pace Crawford, the alley width
changed or buffered, the building scaled down in size, underground
or under-building parking and the unloading of consignments, which has
always been a concern of the neighbors, Mr. Collins was asked to
return with information on the following questions to Council on Dec. 1lt:
(1) cost of acquisition and whether interested in
relocation of the gas station, liquor stare and
Embers,
(2) liquor store and service station,
(3) liquor store only,
(4) service station only,
(5) no takings, and try to maintain square footage
of building, and
(6) no takings, but build smaller building to
• comply with current parking requirements.
Dahlgren and Associates were also asked to expand their sketch variations.
Councilmeanber Ciernia referred to a letter from Andrews A11en, President
of Andrus A11en and Associates, Inc., indicating his interest in developing
a 130-150 unit mid-rise hotel in the Larpenteur/Spelling Area. After
considerable discussion regarding whether there is a need for this type
of development and haw the development would fit into the ~~village
concept+~, Phil Chenoweth moved, seconded by Erma 01 son, that the Planning
Commission is interested in pursuing the development on the southeast
corner only. Motion carried unanimously.
Harold Nilsen moved, seconded by Erma Olson, to adjourn the meeting at
9:10 P.M. Motion carried unanimously.
er h' 1 in, ecreta- ry'
•
