•
•
FALCON HEIGHTS. PLANNING COMMISSION
~ May 23, 1973
=~ ti
PRESENT Blomberg,..Ohman, Plant, Berdie and Trustee Black
.:~•
ABSENT :.Lammers,. Lars en, Schwantes
The meeting was called. to order at 7x30 p.m. at the Village Ha11.-
Art Lindig Mr..Lindig wishes to build an utility bu~ld.ing on his lot,
'which would go up to 2 feet of his lot line. As_the neigh-
bor involved has no objections, the Commission, on motion,
by Oh.`nan seconded by Blomberg, voted unanimously. to recommend.. that. the
Council approve Mr. Lindig's request for-a variance.:
Phyllis Lewis :Ms, Iswis would like to build atwo-car garage on the 'same
site as her present one-car garage.. She would like. to have
the restrictions waived on the sideline and. alley set-backs,
which involve a"variance of 3 feet. As the present garage is already located
at the set-back, the Commission, on motion ,by Ohman seconded by Blombergti
voted unanimously to recommend that the Council approve her request for a
variance.
Lot 1 Block 3 :The owner of Lot 1 Block 3 on the SE corner of Roselawn and-
Sheldon addition Sheldon wishes to place his house (which is to be built) 5t
closer to Roselawn than the set-back limitations. As most of the ,
`houses along that side of Roselawn are set closer to Ro~e-
lawn than the 'required set-back and as this house would still be further ,from
Roselawn than the others, the Commission, on motion by Berdie seconded by
Flant`voted unanimously in favor of recommending to the Council that they
approve the request for a variance.
Dr. Gerald Lana`: Dr. La11a, 1910 Asbury, presently has a driveway 24' wide.
He wants to build an .additional driveway (16' wide) immediately
west'of the present driveway..
Section 14.2 (3.1) of the ordinance statese "Parking areas shall be designed
so as to provide an adequate means of access to a public alley or street.`
Said driveway access shall not exceed. twenty-four (24) feet in width at the-
public wa3k`centerline and shall be located as to cause the least inter~~rence
with traffic movement."
.The Commission believed that adding 16' in width would interfer with th®~traffic
on Roselawn,' which is a.well-traveled street. Therefore it was agreed unani-
mouslyto~recommend to the Village Council that-they deny Dr. Lall~s request:
fnr a variance.
The meeting was.ad3ourned at 8:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Frances Berdie, Sec.
