~~TIt~G OF' THE F~i,CQIV i~EIGFi-TS PLtir~tcliVt~ GC~~ueI:55IC~iV <br />PUBLIC RlitiG <br />~ October 2U, 1965 <br />PRESENT :Plant, Hindermann, Libby, Berdie snd Trustee Black <br />~~~~` ~ Larson, Ohman and Otis <br />The meeting ws,s called to order at 7.55 p.m. Cr~e.irman plant read the Notice <br />of Hearing for Rezoning as follows; "Notice is hereby given that the planning <br />Commission of Falcon Heights will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 20, <br />1965 at the Village Hall, 1644 West La.rpenteur Ave, to consider the applica- <br />tion to rezone the following described property from R ~. to B-1;A classification; <br />"The North 661.19 feet of the ~s.st 466,69 feet of the SEi of the <br />a~ Section 17, T29, R23 (also knoien as 1689, 1695 and 1705 <br />N. Cleveland Avenue) <br />~r.u.s nc~ti.e is given pursuant to the provisions of Grdinance No. 64 of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights. <br />++~ proponent or opponent of the proposed rezoning will be given an oppor- <br />tunity to be heard at this meeting.++ <br />CY~e,irman Plant reported that Mr. a.nd tVrs. Nelson, 1669 N. Cleveland, were <br />present at the last Village Council meeting anal they indicated they have no <br />objections to the rezoning provided they are given some assurance that there <br />gill be no increase in the valuation of their property for real este,te taxes. <br />A definitive statement on this point is going to be secured. by &Ir, Da.ubney <br />from Mr. Ron Powers Ramsey County Assessor, <br />Trustee Black announced that since the lastCouncil meeting an application f"or <br />rezoning has been received from Mr. Nelson. Previous applications ha~ebeen <br />received from &1s'. i~arschke, 1695 N. Cleveland and from ;~l.bert Bilski, 1705 <br />N. Cleveland. <br />~'• and i~rs. B. V. Marschke, 1695 N. Cleveland, ~re the only people present <br />at the hearing and they favored it. <br />A~OTION s dlr. Hindermann moved that all three properties be rezoned B-lA in <br />view of the fact that there v~ere no opponents present. The rezoning <br />should be held in abeyance until receipt from theCounty.Asaessor~s <br />office that the property i#' continued under its present use v~i.11 not <br />be reevaluated upwards as a result of the rezoning. The motion was <br />seconded by Herdic, and passed. <br />gt the close of the public hearing, Trustee Black announced a meeting to be <br />held ~ the Ramsey County League of Municipalities ~ on Nov. 17th at 7;50 p.m. <br />at the White Bear Lake City Ha11. Congressman North is bringing t'ive government <br />experts to speak on planning, ae~eers and water, Barks and recreation, and <br />transportation. Mr, Black will be going .and offered $ ride to anyone interested. <br />Trustee Black stated that Arthur Jorgenson, 1707 Tatum, wants to build one more <br />garage. It will leave 22+ from the lot line, It was the feeling of the Planning <br />Commission that it was inadvisable to a12ow any more gsra,ges on his property. <br />The meeting yeas adjourned. <br />Respectfully submitted., <br />~!rs.
