CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES <br /> CITY ATTORNEY CIVIL <br /> The City of Falcon Heights, hereinafter referred to as "the <br /> City agrees to employ Leonard, Street and Deinard, hereinafter <br /> referred to as "the Firm as its civil attorney under the <br /> conditions outlined in this agreement, and the Firm agrees to <br /> accept such employment pursuant to the terms hereof. <br /> I. CITY ATTORNEY (LEAD COUNSEL) <br /> A. The Firm will act as the City Attorney in civil matters <br /> for the City. Peter Bachman will act as lead civil <br /> counsel for the City and will be designated as the City <br /> Attorney. Mr. Bachman's designation as City Attorney <br /> means that he will attend council meetings as requested <br /> and be the main contact and legal representative for the <br /> City on civil issues. He will consult with other <br /> attorneys in the Firm, as necessary, and refer City <br /> officials and staff to other attorneys when appropriate. <br /> B. If Mr. Bachman cannot or does not wish to continue to be <br /> the City Attorney for the City, Mr. Bachman or a <br /> representative of the Firm shall inform the City. <br /> C. Other attorneys as identified in Section III.B of the <br /> attached proposal shall be available as needed for the <br /> City's civil matters. <br /> D. The designation of City Attorney does not preclude the <br /> City from seeking legal counsel from another firm, if it <br /> finds it necessary to do so. <br /> II. DESCRIPTION OF LEGAL SERVICES <br /> A. The City will request the City Attorney to act on civil <br /> matters on an ongoing and "as needed" basis. <br /> B. The types of services required may include, but may not <br /> be limited to, some or all of the following: <br /> 1. Attendance at City Council meetings and other City <br /> board, commission, or committee meetings as <br /> requested by the City Council or City Administrator. <br /> 2. Drafting of ordinances, resolutions and <br /> correspondence as requested. <br /> PHB \FALCON \SVC- CONT.002 <br />
