The ambulance rates were not reviewed during the <br /> 1993 budget process since they had been reviewed in March, 1992 <br /> and the IV service was being aded in early 1993. Thus, the <br /> ambulance rates need to be reviewed at this time. <br /> The fees are based upon the estimated costs of labor, materials <br /> and equipment. An average ambulance bill with some special needs <br /> ranges from $400 -$450. <br /> Attached are staff's recommended charges for all ambulance <br /> services compared to the current rates. Staff has also included <br /> what the services cost the city to provide. <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Approve proposed new ambulance rates <br /> to keep the service operating as an enterprise <br /> fund. <br />
