Construction bids will be <br /> let during the first week of August. As part of this project the <br /> school district will be repaving and constructing parking areas, <br /> sidewalks, storm sewer connections and lighting. There is the <br /> opportunity to explore having the city contract for the work and <br /> assess the school district for 100% of the cost of the project <br /> cost which is estimated at $200,000. Other cities and the school <br /> district have cooperated in this manner. <br /> Staff requests council authorization to proceed with these <br /> discussions with the school district. At a minimum this will <br /> require exploring a number of financial, assessment and <br /> contracting issues over the next few months to determine under <br /> what terms such an arrangement would benefit both the city and <br /> the school district. <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: X6r- <br /> Authorize the administrator to meet with school district <br /> officials to discuss the terms and requirements for implementing <br /> and assessing for exterior work on Falcon Heights Elementary <br /> School. <br />
