Meeting Date: 6/23/93 <br /> Agenda Item: P 3 <br /> CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Proposed upgrading of audio visual equipment <br /> and associated remodeling of the council <br /> chambers <br /> SUBMITTED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator <br /> Tom Kelly, Finance Director <br /> Bill Bruce, Cable Consultant <br /> REVIEWED BY: <br /> EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: <br /> Staff has been working with Bill Bruce, a cable consultant, to <br /> determine what needs to be done for upgrading the audio /visual <br /> facilities in the council chambers. The current system was put <br /> in during the early 1980's and needs substantial replacement to <br /> provide adequate reception and audio for viewers. <br /> The proposed project includes the following: <br /> 1. Improved camera system 9,355 <br /> 2. Audio system 3,750 <br /> 3. Miscellaneous equipment 1,590 <br /> 4. Optional equipment 2,510 <br /> 5. Installation estimate 3,750 <br /> Total 18,445 to 20,955 <br /> 6. Remodeling of the cable room and podium <br /> (No estimates currently available. Will discuss at meeting.) <br /> Additional financial assistance is being requested from the <br /> Cable Commission <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A Proposal from Bill Bruce <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Discuss and approve requesting proposals for audio visual <br /> improvements and for council chamber remodeling to upgrade <br /> facilities. <br /> The funds are budgeted in the city's administrative capital fund. <br />
