MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 13, 1993 <br /> PAGE 3 <br /> ITEM P -4, CONTRACT FOR RELOCATION SERVICES FOR THE 1993 COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br /> Administrator Hoyt stated that the acquisition of the property at 2061 West <br /> Larpenteur has three distinct aspects; (1) acquisition, (2) relocation and <br /> (3) demolition. The residents of the house must be relocated and she discussed <br /> relocation requirements with Ramsey County Block Grant officials. They advised <br /> using a relocation specialist to guarantee that the required procedures are followed in <br /> a timely way, that the residents will be relocated by people who are accustomed to <br /> working with individuals in a similar situation and that the city staff can proceed with <br /> the arranging for the acquisition and demolition of the property. Staff <br /> recommends hiring the firm of Conworth for relocation services at an hourly rate of <br /> $65 /hour with a maximum cost of $2,470.00. The cost will be covered from the <br /> $110,000 in the CDBG grant. After brief discussion, Councilmember Gehrz made the <br /> motion to hire Conworth, Inc. for a maximum cost of $2,470.00. Motion passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> ITEM P -5, SCHEDULE SPECIAL MEETING /WORKSHOP FOR SATURDAY, OCTOBER <br /> 16, 1993. <br /> Mayor Baldwin requested a special meeting /workshop be held Saturday, <br /> October 16, 1993 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to further define the <br /> goals to guide the council and staff over the next few months. All councilmembers <br /> will be in attendance as well as Administrator Hoyt. <br /> INFORMATIONAL ITEMS NOTED <br /> Administrator Hoyt mentioned that a Proclamation was included in the agenda <br /> from the Suburban Area Chamber of Commerce proclaiming "Manufacturers Week" <br /> in Falcon Heights from October 18 through October 22.
