HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> DATE: September 21 TIME: 7:OOPM PLACE: City Hall <br /> Members Present Absent <br /> Bowers X <br /> Gibson Talbot X <br /> Groff X <br /> Harris X <br /> Sheppard X <br /> Treadwell X <br /> Venters X <br /> Willems X <br /> SUMMARY OF MEETING: <br /> 1. Ted Johnson was present as our newest Human Rights Commissioner and was <br /> introduced to the group. <br /> 2. Wayne Groff gave a report on the MN Human Rights Commissions Annual <br /> Meeting. <br /> 3. Dave Bowers reported that he had contact with the Roseville P.D. concerning <br /> reporting of hate and bias crimes. He will be working with the Roseville P.D., <br /> Roseville Human Rights Commission, and the area schools on setting up education <br /> and standardization of reporting of hate and bias crimes <br /> 4. Ted Johnson will be doing some research on resources such as films, videos, <br /> and written material that could be used as resources for the whole commission to use <br /> to educate and inform. <br /> 5. That was some discussion on a possible open house for all the commissions <br /> currently working on projects for the City. It was felt that this would provide a good <br /> access to the citizens of Falcon Hgts. to understanding what the commissions are <br /> doing currently and an avenue for the exchange of ideas between the commissions <br /> and the public. <br /> 6. John Treadwell stated that he had spoken to Thelma McKenzie of Roseville's <br /> Human Rights Commission and that they were going to have a diversity fair in. <br /> January and asked if we were interested in participating. <br /> 7. Interest was shown by the commissioners in the better understanding of how our <br /> schools integrate into their programs education on diversity of all aspects. <br /> ACTION ITEMS: <br /> 1.
