Parks Recreation Commission <br /> REASONS YOU WISH TO SERVE ON ABOVE: My family and I utilize the Falcon <br /> Heights Parks and have participated in the Falcon Heights Recreation Programs. I have <br /> been impressed with the quality of the recreation programs and park facilities. I am a <br /> strong supporter of recreational activities for all individuals. I have a background in <br /> recreation and would like to be a part of the planning and development of parks and <br /> recreation in Falcon Heights. <br /> PRIOR PUBLIC (OR RELATED) SERVICE: 14•1y undergraduate studies were in the area <br /> of recreation and therapeutic recreation. I've worked as a Therapeutic Recreational <br /> Specialist developing programs, services and polices for a variety of disabled individuals <br /> in health czu and community settings. Most recently. I have worked as a Program <br /> Planner and Supervisor with the Minnesota Department of Human Services. My work <br /> includes developing and coordinating a variety of public programs, services, grants and <br /> policies. <br /> OTHER RELEVANT BACKGROUND (OR COMMENTS): My daughter attends <br /> Falcon Heights Elementary school and I am a member of the PTSA. We live just a 1/2 <br /> block from the school and park grounds. I understand the school park is scheduled to be <br /> refurbished upon completion of the school remodeling project. I would be very interested <br /> in being part of the planning for the development of the Falcon Heights School Park as <br /> well as the continued planning of quality recreation programming and facility utilization <br /> throughout the city. <br />
