Co s i 'o a t.: oX n s onsen s <br /> Meeting Date: 2/9/94 <br /> Agenda Item: C 4 <br /> CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Authorization for city administrator to sign <br /> contract to perform inspections on public <br /> buildings in the City of Falcon Heights <br /> exclusive of the Minnesota State Fair and the <br /> University of Minnesota <br /> SUBMITTED' BY: David Kriesel, Building Official <br /> REVIEWED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator <br /> EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: <br /> In an effort to reduce paper work the State of Minnesota Building <br /> Codes and Standards Division prepared an annual contract with <br /> municipalities for inspecting public buildings. In Falcon <br /> Heights, the public buildings include any structures outside the <br /> University of Minnesota and the Minnesota State Fair, which have <br /> their own building officials associated with their institutions. <br /> (Mr. Heffron, the Fair's executive director, was contacted about <br /> this.) This contract would be used to inspect additions to the <br /> Falcon Heights Elementary School. The permit fees associated <br /> with the public building project are received by the city and <br /> cover the full cost or more of the necessary inspections. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A Proposed contract with the State of Minnesota Building Codes <br /> and Standards Division <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Authorize the city administrator to enter into a contract for <br /> inspecting public buildings with the State of Minnesota Buildings <br /> and Codes Division. <br />
