Mayor Tom Baldwin
City of Falcon Heights
My name is Ben Lamb and I am fifteen. I have lived in Falcon
Heights all of my life and am soliciting the city council's
endorsement and support as I conduct my Eagle Scout Project.
My project is titled "Falcon Heights Food Shelf Day." I hope
to conduct it on May 21, 1994. My goal is to collect and
deliver up to one ton of non perishable food items to Sharing
and Caring Hands Inc. of Minneapolis.
I have chosen late May because food shelf donations
traditionally fall off at this time. People seem to believe
that as winter ends, so does hunger. I would like my project
to fill the void left by decreased donations.
Enclosed is a copy of my preliminary project plan for your
consideration.
The main purpose of this letter is to obtain the support of
my city government and a written endorsement from the city
council and /or mayor.
Secondly, I ask that you help me in any or all of the
following ways if at all possible.
1. Print a version of the attached flyer in the Falcon
Heights News Letter.
2. Display an endorsement on the billboard in front of City
Hall from May 14 thru May 21, 1994. Perhaps "GIVE TO THE
FOOD DRIVE, MAY 21!" would be appropriate
3. Authorize up to $100 for the printing of the attached
flyer for distribution by myself, on May 14, 1994.
4. Advise me on any legal requirements, permits, or codes
that pertain to the afore mentioned plan.
Thank you, in advance, for your consideration and support.
If you can provide me with any additional information or
would like to discuss any aspect of my plan, please call me
at (612) 646 -0059.
Again, thank you.
Sincerely
Benjamin Owen Lamb
