Page 2 Council Minutes March 9, 1994 REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR BASEMENT STORAGE OF APPROVED ITEMS AT 1533 TO 1559 W. LARPENTEUR AVENUE, BULLSEYE SHOPPING CENTER [CHAPTER 9- 10.01, SUBDIVISION 2(B) OF THE ZONING CODE] Bullseye Shopping center has approximately 14,800 square feet of finished basement space. In order to bring in some revenue from this vacant space that is sprinklered and has elevator access, the property manager is requesting that the area be leased for storage of materials that will not create a fire hazard in the building. Council discussed the proposed conditions that would have to be met for granting the permit. Baldwin suggested that loading or unloading on Sundays be prohibited and stated in the list of conditions to be met. After further brief discussion, Jacobs then moved to adopt resolution R -94 -09 which carried unanimously. RESOLUTION R -94 -09 A RESOLUTION GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR BASEMENT STORAGE OF APPROVED ITEMS AT 1533 TO 1559 W. LARPENTEUR, BULLSEYE SHOPPING CENTER REQUEST FOR APPROVAL AND FUNDING OF THE FIRST EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE Joe Martinez, a member of the city's rescue team, along with the support of the fire department, presented to council the department's proposal for an emergency medical services open house for May 22nd. The purpose of the open house is to acquaint the community with many aspects of the city's rescue service and to educate the community about first aid safety. The hours of the open house are to be from noon to 4 p.m. Council discussed the request to purchase static stickers with key medical emergency information to put by a telephone. The money could come from underspending in another category or from the contingency fund. The request was for $275 for 500 stickers. Council agreed these stickers could be used to give to residents all during the year so Hustad moved to approve the EMS open house and also the purchase of 1,000 stickers for $380. Motion carried unanimously. The Fire Relief Association plans to match the city's funds with its funds to kick off this event.
