Meeting Date: 10/26/94 <br /> Agenda Item: C 8 <br /> CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Office remodeling of copy room <br /> SUBMITTED BY: Pete Klingenberg, Public Works Superintendent <br /> EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: In order to provide privacy for the St. Anthony police <br /> officer who will be using space at city hall for an office as well as to provide space for <br /> a copy /supply room for staff and easy access to this room for the officer, the copy <br /> room should be remodeled. Two bids have been received at this time. They are: <br /> American Handyman $1,395.00 (carpet not included) <br /> Dick Larson $1,190.00 (carpet not included) <br /> Mr. Carpenter, Inc. $2,895.00 (includes $400 for carpet) <br /> Staff recommends at this time to hire American Handyman because the proposal is <br /> more complete and includes a diagram of all work to be done, covers all electrical and <br /> carpentry work required with already available crews and can be done during office <br /> hours to meet required deadlines. Staff will do the painting, carpet replacement. <br /> and cabinet purchase ($400) and installation. <br /> The money used was originally budgeted for carpeting in the council chambers and <br /> was not entirely used. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: A. Proposal from American Handyman with diagram of police /copy <br /> room layout <br /> B. Proposal from Dick Larson <br /> C.
