11/01/94 15:19 NW YOUTH FAMILY SERVICES 4 612644667 <br /> NO. 328 Ald <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 1, 1994 <br /> TO: City of Falcon Heights <br /> FROM: Kay Andrews, Executive Director <br /> Northwest Youth Family Services <br /> REASON: Grant Application to Board of Innovation Cooperation <br /> s*** <br /> I am writing on behalf of Northwest Youth Family Services (NYFS) to ask your support of <br /> a grant to the Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation for fonds to develop a Youth <br /> Activity Center at NYFS' new building located at 3490 North Lexington Avenue. Eligible <br /> applicants, of which NYFS is one, include organizations established by two or more local <br /> governments under a joint powers agreemextt. One -time only start up funds are available and they <br /> would be used to renovate the building and purchase equipment for the Youth Activity Center, <br /> NYFS is asking each of its joint powers cities to participate as co-applicants. A signature of the <br /> senior elected or administrative official is squired. Your endorsement will help us to submit <br /> the strongest application possible. Your participation does not infer a responsibility on the part <br /> of your city to provide funding for the Youth Activity Center. You may remember this is the <br /> project/resolution that was mentioned during our visit with your council. <br /> I have enclosed the pre-application narrative for your review. It should answer most of your <br /> questions about the project and its benefit to the youth of our communities. Since ha <br /> th a <br /> short time -frame before the grant is due, I would like the form to be picked up rather <br /> mailed. The grant is due by November 15th.
