BUILDING THE CITY'S 1995 BUDGET <br /> Begins in June with defining the city's goals for the coming <br /> year. <br /> Overall purpose: to promote a community that is a <br /> good place to live, work and visit. <br /> Goal 1: to protect the public health and safety. <br /> Action Item 1: Provide a responsive, visible, <br /> community based and involved police <br /> force. <br /> In June departments submitted budgets for review. <br /> In July and August discussed specifics for the budget. <br /> On September 14, 1994 adopted a preliminary 1995 <br /> budget and certified a proposed property tax levy. <br /> In November the county sent out the "truth -in- taxation" <br /> notices with the 1995 property tax estimates to property <br /> owners. <br /> On December 7, 1994 hold hearing on the proposed 1995 <br /> budget and resulting property tax levy. <br /> On December 21, 1994 adopt final 1995 budget and <br /> certify a final property tax levy. <br /> 3 <br />
