Below is a summary of <br /> P taNNwG the requirements of the program, along N!NIPAI alon with some information about how each requirement <br /> SOLID WASTE affects the City of Falcon Heights. <br /> STRUCTURAL <br /> SURVEYING BACKGROUND <br /> TRAFFIC <br /> TRANSPORTATION Effective September 30, 1992, the Metropolitan Council adopted the "Interim Strategy to <br /> Reduce Nonpoint Source Pollution to All Metropolitan Water Bodies" for areas within the <br /> ELECTRICAL /MECHANICAL Minnesota River Basin. Effective January 1, 1993, the strategy was adopted for the <br /> ENGINEERING. remainder of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Communities within the metropolitan area <br /> HVAC are now implementing this strategy at the local level. <br /> ?OWER DISTRIBUTION <br /> `c„ DA The strategy includes three essential requirements: <br /> SYSTEM CONTROLS <br /> 1. Local governments must adopt design standards for new storm water ponds that will <br /> reduce the contaminant loadings from surface runoff. <br /> 2. Local governments must follow "Best Management Practices" as outlined in several <br /> publications by the MPCA, MnDOT and others. <br /> 3.
