MINUTES <br /> 9 Falcon Heights Solid Waste Commission 9 <br /> February 9, 1995 <br /> Chair Marty McCleery called the meting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL: <br /> P Jeff' Alexander P Marty McCleery <br /> A John Bricildson A Mary Pat McGinnis <br /> A Michael Haglund P Susan Smith <br /> A Laura Kuettel p Sam Jacobs (council liaison) <br /> P Barbara Leary p Carla Asleson (staff representative) <br /> P Catherine Mackiewicz <br /> AMENDMENT OF MINUS: The minutes of the January 12, 1995, meeting were <br /> amended to correct the names of Barbara Leary and Carla Asleson. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Jeff Alexander moved and Catherine Mackiewicz seconded <br /> acprooval of the minutes (as amended) of the meeting held on January 12, 1995. <br /> WELCOME NEW COUNCIL LIAISON: The Commission welcomed Sam Jacobs as its <br /> 1995 City Council Liaison. Sam has served as the Solid Waste Commission liaison in the <br /> past and members look forward to working with him again. <br /> PRESENTATION TO CITY COUNCIL: The Solid Waste Commission has submitted its <br /> written report to the City Council on 'the Commission's 1994 accomplishments and activities <br /> and 1995 goals and projects. Due to scheduling difficulties, however, the oral presentation to <br /> the City Council has been postponed. No new date has been set. <br /> LIONS' FUNDING: The Falcon Heights/Lauderdale Lions Club, which funded the "bounty" <br /> and provided volunteers for the Project ChildSafe car seat collection which the Commission <br /> coordinated in 1994, has offered to consider a list of requests for ftmding in 1995. The <br /> Commission will request funding for another Project ChildSafe colleettion (to be scheduled in <br /> conjunction with the ice cream social on July 27, 1995) and will look for other opportunities <br /> yo take advantage of the Lions' assistance. <br /> 1995 CITYWIDE GARAGE SALE: <br /> fiver: Jeff Ale :•ander and Cula. Asleson will prepare a draft of the rules and information <br /> to be distributed to participating residents. The draft will be available for discussion at the <br /> M 9 meeting_ When finaiived, the flyer will be presented to the City Council for <br /> approval. <br /> Block Coordinators: The Commission discussed involving block coordinators to help <br /> define boundaries and mark streets on which participating residents are located. <br />
