Tesser, Judy Connolly (Human Rights Commission)
Domestic Partner Ordinance
Assistant to the City Administrator Tesser and Connolly updated the city council on the Human
Rights Commission’s work relating to a proposed domestic partner ordinance. They answered
several questions from the city council, and reviewed the key points that the commission was
recommending be included in the ordinance. The council agreed with most of the
recommendations and directed staff to work with the city attorney to prepare an ordinance to
be placed on a future city council agenda.
2011-2012 City Council Goals Discussion
The council reviewed the existing goals and determined which could be eliminated due to being
completed or no longer appropriate. They also added their goals for the year and directed staff
to bring them forward to a city council meeting for formal approval. The council also expressed
interest in simplifying the layout of the goals, including a way to highlight the top five or so
goals that the city council wishes to address in the coming year.
The workshop concluded at 9:05 p.m.
