1. Meeting called to order 6:30 PM
2. Approval of Minutes July 11th

3. Summer Events: A Look Back
Ice Cream Social
Ice Cream Social was a tremendous success. We received more revenue then ever before at $1,428.38 ($228.00 more
than 2010). We also went through all the ice cream including 22 (2) litters of pop, 15 pails of ice cream. Root beer floats were very popular this year. The estimated attendees were
approximately 500.
5k Family Fun Run/Walk
There were 43 participants. Last year we had 92. All expenses were covered by business donations. Revenue was lower than last year at
$277.86 (2010- $545.11) for Lauderdale and Falcon Heights.
4. Tennis Court, USTA grant update
The $3,200 was received by the USTA Adopt a Court fund. Construction began August 15th. The project completion is scheduled for October 21st.
Tesser has continued to put updated information regarding the project on the Community Park’s kiosk and Facebook page updating with photos.
5. Staff Report:
Summer Programs:
Surveys
were sent out to camp participants and had very good results. There were no bad surveys received. We received more than half back.
Fall Programming Guide
Fall soccer registration
is completely full (all three sections)
Fall tennis will not be offered because of pending tennis court construction.
Cheer America will be coming to Falcon Heights starting in September.
Playground Equipment Replacement
Tesser showed the commission several new pieces of playground equipment to replace the merry-go-round including climbing walls, crescent climbers,
spinami and jungle gym. The majority of the commission members decided on purchasing a merry-go-round. The merry-go-round was ordered September 13th. It will be 8” round, a basic
model, same as the previous merry-go-round. The price was approximately $3,000.00.
