HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCWkspMin 12-5-12Falcon Heights Council Workshop Minutes December 5, 2012 6:30 p.m. Members present: Mayor Lindstrom, Council Members Mercer-Taylor, Harris and Long Members absent: Council Member Gosline City Staff present: City Administrator Bart Fischer Continued 2013 Draft Enterprise Fund Budget Discussion Council continued their discussions on the 2013 En terprise Budgets as well as the Public Safety Capital Fund. Council provided Staff with dire ction in finalizing these budgets for the Budget Hearing to be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Continued Discussion/Planning Commission F eedback on Prairie Grass Ordinance Council discussed the Draft Prairie Gra ss Ordinance that was recommended by the Environment Commission. Council directed Staff to conduct research into any cities that have an ordinance limiting prairie grass by percentage of lot coverage. Council also directed Staff to pursue adding language to the proposed ordi nance requiring property owners with prairie grass to properly maintain any edges abutting neighboring properties. This item will come before Council in the near future. Discussion on Draft Bee Keeping Ordinance from the Environment Commission Council had discussion on a draft bee keepin g ordinance recommended from the Environment Commission. Council was split on their desire to move forward with this ordinance. Further discussion will be had in the future. Skating Rink Discussion Council and Staff had a discussion relating to th e various skating rinks in the City. The City will work with the Grove Association on esta blishment of their neighborhood ice rink. January 2, 2013, Council Workshop There was discussion regarding the January 2, 2 012, Council Workshop. If there is need for a Workshop in January, it will be coordinated around the January 9, 2012, Regular Council meeting.
