Discussion/Review of Fire Department Study Recommendations
Council and staff reviewed the 11 recommendations from the recent Fire Department Study
conducted by Springsted Incorporated. Thoughts and ideas were exchanged on how to move
forward with the recommendations in both the short and long term.
Discussion of a Draft Chicken Ordinance
Council discussed the draft chicken ordinance that was recommended to them by the
Environment Commission. After discussion relating to the benefits and drawbacks of the
ordinance, 3 of the Councilmembers (Lindstrom, Mercer-Taylor, Gosline) directed staff to bring
the ordinance forward at a future City Council meeting.
Discussion on a Tree Master Plan
Councilmember Long presented a recommendation from City Forester Andy Hovland to create
a tree master plan for the City. Andy presented this recommendation at the last Park Board
meeting. The Council directed the Park Board to begin working with Andy on a citywide tree
master plan.
The workshop concluded at 9:04 p.m.
