Members present: Mayor Lindstrom, Council Members Mercer-Taylor, Harris, Long and
Gosline
Members absent:
City Staff present: City Administrator Bart Fischer
1) Discussion on the process of appointing members to City Commissions.
Council and staff discussed the possibility of formalizing the process for appointing
City commission members. Council directed staff to come back with a plan for
review that would include appointments being made one time per year (at the end of
the year), incorporating an interview process and incorporating a new member
orientation. Staff will bring back a plan to a future meeting for further discussion.
2) Discussion on future staffing of City Hall.
Council and staff discussed the fact that there will be a few retirements on the City
staff in the next few years. Initial discussions were had regarding how best to
replace and utilize these positions.
The workshop concluded at 8:04 p.m.
