June 12th, 2017

Meeting Minutes
Present: Chair Miazga, Secretary Olson, Staff Liaison Moretto, and Commissioners
Wasserberg, McCleery, Hall.
1) Approval of Minutes
The Minutes from the May 2017 meeting of the Environmental Commission were
approved.
2) News and Announcements
Roster of Commissioners will be updated
Vice Chair position remains vacant
Commissioner Hall requested updates regarding last meetings discussion of
the gardening space adjacent to Lindig.
3) Update- Bee Ordinance
Bee ordinance will hopefully be on July’s Council Workshop agenda. This is
regarding policies relating to bee-friendly practices, not private hives.
4) Update- Vacant Buildings
This issue has been referred to the Planning Commission for further action. The
Environmental Commission is interested in participating in future discussions
because these vacant properties “…affect the beauty and character of the City.”
5) Update- Planning for Resilient Cities Workshop
This workshop shared ideas on energy and planning, and continues LoGoPEP
discussions. There will be a ‘wedge’ tool coming out to visualize how policies could
affect goals (metrics).
