Falcon Heights Environment Commission
August 13th, 2018
6:30 p.m.
Meeting Minutes
Present: Vice Chair Meah, Secretary Olson, Ryan Krzos (WSB, Interim Staff Liasion), Mayor Lindstrom,
Sack Thongvanh and Commissioners: Holmes, and Mathwig.
1) Approval of Minutes
Approved pending revisions to Vice Chair name correction from Holmes to Meah.
2) News and Announcements
City
Council Member opening. Application due August 24th
Ice Cream Social Event will be on August 14th.
The Mayor will be at the Eco Experience (Department of Commerce) Building to volunteer
his time and highlight the City’s environmental accomplishments.
Ryan Krzos (present) will be filling Paul’s position until a permanent hire is onboarded.
3) Continue Comprehensive
Plan Review
The Commission spent the meeting discussing the draft Comprehensive Plan for the City of Falcon Heights. Commissioners have divided the following topics within the Plan
to review in depth and will continue to provide comments and edits to:
Background- All Commissioners
Housing- Mathwig, Olson
Land Use- Mathiwg, Olson
Community System and Services- Wassenberg,
Holmes
Protecting Special Resources- McCleery, Meah
Economic Development – Wassenberg, Holmes
Comments and edits should be sent to Ryan for aggregation into a single document by August
27th. There will be a September 25th Planning Commission open forum to discuss comments and revisions. Commission agreed to use October Meeting to fine tune recommendations on 2040
Plan.
