Regular Meeting of the City Council
Minutes of August 25, 1999
Mayor Gehrz called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.
Present: Gehrz, Gibson Talbot, Jacobs, Kuettel, Administrator Hoyt
Absent: Hustad
Community Forum:
Second Assistant Fire Chief Sheltie Marvin of 1818 W. Larpenteur said that she had
received several phone calls from fire/rescue personnel indicating that they would
consider leaving the department if the EMS were dissolved.

The August 4, 1999 minutes were approved.
• Consent A eg nda:
An addendum was added to the consent agenda as Item No. 3.
1. General disbursements and payroll
2. Licenses
3. Scheduling September 1 budget workshop at 7:00 p.m. and council meeting at 8:00
p.m.
Councilmember Kuettel moved approval of the consent agenda. The motion passed
unanimously.
Policy A eg nda:
Consideration of Resolution 99-18 subdividing a lot at 1795 No. Fairview Avenue
into two lots.
The request to subdivide one lot at 1795 N. Fairview into two lots, retaining a lot on
Fairview Avenue and creating a new lot on the north end of Lindig Street was made by
property owners Kevin and Felicia Busch at 1804 Lindig St. Councilmember Jacobs
moved approval of Resolution 99-18. The motion passed unanimously.
• Consideration of ordinance 99-05 amending Section 9-2.03 and 9-2.05 of the zoning
code requiring a lot to have frontage on a public street prior to development.

The city attorney recommended that the above ordinance be a part of the zoning code and
the planning commission held a public hearing on the amendment and unanimously
approved the ordinance. Councilmember Gibson Talbot moved approval of the above
ordinance and motion passed unanimously.
Consideration of ordinance 99-06 amending 9-16 of the zoning code related to
planned unit developments (PUD)
Councilmember Kuettel moved approval of ordinance 99-06 and motion passed
unanimously.
Participation in the Great City Hall Tune-In
After brief discussion, council directed administrator Hoyt to research and do what she
feels appropriate without taking too much staff time.
