MINUTES
REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 1 1, 1993
Baldwin convened the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Baldwin, Ciernia and Gehrz. Also present were Hoyt and Phillips.
MEMBERS ABSENT
Gibson Talbot and Jacobs.
MINUTES OF 7/28/93 APPROVED
Council approved the minutes of July 28, 1993 by unanimous consent.
CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED
Council approved the following Consent Agenda by unanimous consent:
1. Disbursements
a. General disbursements through 7/30/93, 517,084.51
b. General disbursements through 8/5/93, 545,041.60
c. Payroll, 7/16/93-7/31/93, 511,541.33
2. Licenses: Olsen Fire Protection, Inc. #2038, Timberline
Tree Service, #2037, Rollins Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.
#2036, Gibbs Farm Museum, temporary on-sale liquor license for
August 14 and 21, 1993.
3. Resignation of Steve Huso from the Planning Commission and
appointment of Thomas R. Brace to complete the term
ITEM P-1, COMMUNITY PARK PRAIRIE PLANTING
Councilmember Gehrz explained the proposed prairie seeding project for a portion of
Community Park scheduled for this fall. Resident Brian Malzer offered to organize and
manage this undertaking as part of his Eagle Scout project. Scout troops and
community volunteers of all ages will assist in the planting of approximately 3,000
seedlings. Jyneen Thatcher, newly elected chairperson of the park and recreation
commission and landscape architect, is willing to assist in the management of this

project. Sue Gehrz moved to approve the expenditure of S 1, 500 to purchase the
seedlings out of Community Park landscaping funds. Motion carried unanimously.
