We had great fun at our outdoor gigs in summers past, and we’d love to do it again with YOUR people. Some quick facts you may find useful. We ask $600, but we’re negotiable – all the way down to FREE if the fun-factor is good enough. Let’s talk. Call me or shoot me an email with the date(s) you have in mind. (Indoor events all winter are fine too!) The Percolators are a great band and we're just right for a crowd of mixed ages from kids to seniors. We play fun, danceable 60's- 70's rock, a little country, some blues, lots of nice ballads, even a couple of polkas if asked. We are a trio and everybody sings (great 3-part harmonies) with guitar, bass guitar and drums. Our setup is fast and easy and fits most stages easily. We have our own lights and PA system (very simple and not too loud) and we always set up a guest microphone. I'm a pretty good MC if you need one. For best detail you can go to our website for a songlist and some audio samples. We've been together since 1992 and some of us played together in other bands in the 1970's. We show up, start on time, and tear down and get out quickly. We are eager to play for events of any kind, indoor or outdoor. Fee negotiable. The Tadpole Parade Band Concert $1,800– Super Rockin’ The complete Will Hale live rock concert experience with the Tadpole Parade Band. Item Community Garden Description Staff approached Ramsey County Master gardener volunteers and would like to host a Community Gardener Meeting on Wednesday April 17th. The event will provide informational items, seeds and community engagement. A. Community Gardener Meeting Partner with U of M Ramsey County Master Gardener Volunteers to educate, share gardening tips and answer questions. WEDNESDAY APRIL 17TH 6PM AT CITY HALL- 2077 W. LARPENTEUR ITEM FOR DISCUSSION Families, Fields and Fair __________________________ The City That Soars! Item Grant Updates Description A. Target Grant Previously talked about at the January 7th meeting, The Target Soccer Grant will primarily enhance our scholarship program. This program provides Parks and Recreation programming to low-income families who are residents of the City of Falcon Heights. Over the years, the scholarship program has received donations from various sources including individuals, local businesses and other grant opportunities. At the June 4th, 2018 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, the commission voted unanimously to submit this application. At the June 27th, 2018 City Council meeting, the Council voted unanimously to submit this application as recommended by the Park and Recreation Commission. At the December 12, 2018 City Council meeting, the Council accepted the grant funding. B. Good Neighbor Fund As an ongoing effort to connect visitors with the parks, the Parks and Recreation Commission discovered an opportunity to do so by hosting a “Piano in the Park” for public use at Community Park. In the Fall of 2017, the city was awarded the grant and the first payment of $833.33 (one third of the cost) was received in September of 2017. The Good Neighbor Fund was established in 2008 by the University of Minnesota. Funds are available from the annual proceeds of an endowment established at the time of the development of TCF Bank Stadium. Groups eligible to apply must be member organizations of the University of Minnesota Stadium Advisory Group. Having completed the project in July of 2018, staff submitted final reporting Meeting Date April 1, 2019 Agenda Item Discussion E4 Attachment N/A Submitted By Nalisha Nandkumar, Staff and has now received the final payment totaling $1667.67. The City plans on applying for the Good Neighbors Fund for 2019. The theme for the fund use will be focused on our initiative of cultivating a caring community. Some of the projects include building a storage shed at Curtiss Field, hosting story time at various locations and continuing the development of our REC on the Go program.
