The City That Soars!
Item Spring Together
Description Activities – Staff will use Parks and Recreation activity equipment. Summer
program employees will be at the event and assist the activities.
- Art crafts
- Bounce house
- Bean bag toss
- Mini soccer
Drawing Prizes –Bell Museum, Gibbs Farm and Ramsey County Battle Creek
Water Park are donating prizes for the event.
- Bell Museum: gift bags
- Gibbs Farm: 2 passes
- Ramsey County Battle Creek: 2 water park passes
Door Knocking – Arranged a date and time for door knocking.
- Pass out fliers to businesses and residential areas
City will provide snacks, plates, water, and utensils.
Budget Impact $200 - $300 (snacks, water, , table cloth, plates, utensils, activities)

Neighborhood Liaisons Summary
Julie Stegman, Katie Kohn and I met on March 28 about the Neighborhood Liaisons program to develop a short
summary and main points of what liaisons do, to be used in recruiting more of them. It could go in the City’s
newsletter and be used in other ways.
Why do we have Neighborhood Liaisons?
To connect residents of Falcon Heights’ neighborhoods in a more localized way with the city’s Community
Engagement Commission. This is to more effectively cultivate a caring community by attending to relationships.
Here is a first draft of the list of what Liaisons do:
•Welcome new residents;
•Promote neighborhood meetings and/or block parties;
•Be a connector and communicator between the City Council and the neighborhood, through the CEC.

Item Immigrant Heritage Month
Description June is Immigrant Heritage Month and it celebrates our country’s immigrant
heritage--stories of individuals, families and communities who have
contributed to the unique social fabric of our country.
Recognizing Immigrant Heritage Month is a powerful way to show your
support and appreciation of immigrants in your community and take part in a
unique celebration of diversity.
Last year, Governors and Mayors representing 41 states issued a combined 194
proclamations recognizing June as Immigrant Heritage Month.

RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING JUNE AS IMMIGRANT HERITAGE MONTH
Whereas generations of immigrants from every corner of the globe have built our
country’s economy and created the unique character of our nation;
Whereas immigrants continue to grow businesses, innovate, strengthen our
economy, and create American jobs in Falcon Heights;
Whereas immigrants have provided the United States with unique social and
cultural influence, fundamentally enriching the extraordinary character of our
nation;
Whereas immigrants have been tireless leaders not only in securing their own
rights and access to equal opportunity, but have also campaigned to create a
fairer and more just society for all Americans; and
Whereas despite these countless contributions, the role of immigrants in building
and enriching our nation has frequently been overlooked and undervalued
throughout our history and continuing to the present day:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Falcon Heights, Minnesota that this Council proclaim June 2019 is designated as "Immigrant
Heritage Month.”
